Chief Ikedi Ohakim, held sway for four years as the executive governor of Imo State between 2007 and 2011. His words were laws and his was revered by both associates and non-associates alike. As the governor, he lobbied his way on practically every policy he deemed good for the people. Ohakim was famous as one of the most environment-friendly governors during his time with his unique “Clean and Green” project. He was indeed passionate about the programme which gave him national and international accolades.
Truly Ikedi Ohakim did his best as the then governor that could ordinarily give him a second tenure. But the electorates seemed not to be impressed. Or rather, they wanted a change.
However, one of his albatross was his alleged horse whipping of a catholic priest. This was to be unique selling point against him by his opponents who taunted him with it amongst other issues and the electorates who were mostly Catholics bought into it. He was to lose that election to the incumbent governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha in one of the most keenly gubernatorial contested elections of 2011.
Nevertheless, since after the election, not much have been heard of or from Chief Ikedi Ohakim who is also referred to as ‘Ochinawanta’. Hardly have Imo indigenes seen their former chief executive who ones described himself as ‘Ikiri’ (an Igbo name for Bush Baby, a nocturnal animal that hardly leaves whatever it holds) apparently referring that he cannot leave power.
There has however been a lot of speculations going round on Ohakim’s whereabouts until he was accused by the state government, along with other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, including Senator Hope Uzodinma and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon.Emeka Ihedioha, of plotting to make the state ungovernable through sponsored acts of violence and brigandage. He was also particularly accused of setting aside N15 billion, a fund allegedly appropriated from the government bond, for the purported plot.
But by this statement, the state government seemed to have stirred the hornet nest and like a wounded lion, Ohakim resurrected to defend himself. Ohakim responded through his Media Aide, Dr. Ethelbert Okere, who was, while he was in the office, his Special Adviser to Ohakim on Public Enlightenment and Documentary, describing Governor Rochas Okorocha’s government as a failure and a Joke” and added that “comedians are not known as good administrators”. He said “governance has been reduced to kindergarten tantrums in Imo State ” and “It is really getting interesting these days how Ohakim’s name spring up in everything that happens in Imo today. If Okorocha makes an incompetent policy and it explodes on his face, it is Ohakim. If government projects fail due to lack of planning, it is Ohakim.” Okere said. He further dismissed it as ‘sheer hogwash’ the allegation that Ohakim had set aside N15 billion for the purported plot, and told Imo people to demand an explanation from Okorocha on what he did with N13.2 billion left in the coffers of the state as at May 29, 2011” he added

ReplyDeletehello to the world at large am mrs ROSS from kenya i want to share a tetimony on how my son was raised from death with spell, first of all i will like to thank dr atakuma who brought my son back to life when my only son was 12years old he was very sick and was in the hospital for three weeks to the extent that hsi dad ran away and left us alone to suffer the burden of his child saying that he's not the father of the child, for him not having the heart disease when he was young and now married. so he left us (crying) and travelled somewhere, and he blocked me on facebook and derserted, i always cry when saying this to the world my lovely child Samuel died of the heart disease, i struggled to pay his death bills but i believed he was not dead and i went home and thought for a while that my world has ended, my son was my only issue and i searched before giving birth to him for 25years of pains and now he was gone and my world crumbled as a mother i can,t give birth to another child. That same day when i was crying in the presence of sympathisers when my childhood friend KATHERINE came to me and told me a testimony about Dr atakuma on how he has helped people to raise the dead at first i got exited but letter on i wondered if it could be possible because it only takes the grace of God to raise the dead but i really wanted my son back at all cost so i emailed him on atakumaoracle@gmail.com so he replied back and ask some few question which i was able to give answers to so he gave me all the procedure on how my son is to get back to life he said he is going to get some scopital items and he will send it to me through the DHL which i agreed so i waited for him for a day before my son was to be buried so the items arrieved as promised and i use it on my son and a minute time he started coughing out blood i ran out but could not say any thing to any one i was kind of doom and i faunted up till now i still can beleive my son is alive when i recoverd i saw him my son fresh blood and i touch him on the face with tears when he SAID (MOTHER WHERE WAS I?)I told him not to worry that GOD is in controll he cried and said where is dad which i cound'nt answer but was able to huge him and gave him a warm bath..so emailed back to atakuma and thank him and also explained to him about my husband he told that he will come back in 3days time i believe he has already done more than that really 3days latter he came home begging me to forgive him which took me me three weeks to look at his face finally i forgive him and now we are living happily ever after i want people in the same situation to please go atakuma via this mail atakumaoracle@gmail.com and get your loved ones resurrected with spell now because i know you can't afford to loose you dear ones please don't hesitate to email him when you need him he is ther for you okay?that was the price he ask us to pay by share the testimony to whole world that he has the power to cast spell to resurrected some one,,,
