HILARY CLINTON ON A "HOT SEAT" FOR OVER 5 HOURS, LOST HER COOL
Hillary Rodham Clinton |
US Secretary of State
Hillary Rodham Clinton was on a “hot seat” Wednesday in the Capitol Hill before
US lawmakers as she delivered fiery rejoinders to Republican critics of the
Obama administration's handling of the deadly attack on a U.S. mission in
Benghazi, on September 11, 2012, which led to the death of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.
She was at times emotional, defiant, complimentary and willing to
chastise lawmakers during the more than 5 hours of testimony before two
separate committees.

Clinton came face to face
with lawmakers who included potential 2016 presidential rivals, that is, if she decides to seek the
presidency again as she did in 2008, losing the Democratic nomination to
President Barack Obama.
Clinton who barely resumed
work two weeks ago after being treated of an illness described as a “concussion and a blood clot near her brain” in a New York hospital, lost her cool when Sen. Ron Johnson, a Wisconsin
Republican serving his first term, persistently questioned her about what he
described as Rice "purposely misleading" the American people. Johnson
was referring to U.N Ambassador Susan Rice’s account four days after the incident
that the attack grew spontaneously from a protest over an anti-Islam film
produced in the United
States .
Hilary Clinton,
a former US
first lady, fired
back at Senator Johnson, shouting and gesturing with her arms in apparent
annoyance, saying "With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead
Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk
one night decided they'd go kill some Americans?"
Her
fists shaking, she continued "What difference, at this point, does it
make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to
prevent it from ever happening again, senator."
