He is arguably one of the biggest names in the Obama inner circle. Popularly called “favs” by friends, Jon is a media darling and have over the years made Time’s Most Influential People list. He is one of the administration’s sharpest talents. While still in his 20s, he was responsible for helping to craft Obama’s Inauguration speech and some of his most memorable lines.
Jon, the valedictorian of his class at the College of Holy Cross, was first noticed during the 2004 presidential campaign as he was listening to Obama practice his now-famous convention speech. The young speechwriter interrupted him (Obama) and said he might consider rewriting a repetitive line.
Jon Favreau was born on the 2nd day of June,1981, and grew up in Massachusetts. Jonathan "Jon" Favreau attended the College of the Holy Cross, graduating as valedictorian. In college, he accumulated a variety of scholastic honors, and took part in and directed numerous community and civic programs. After graduation, he went to work for the John Kerry Presidential campaign in 2004, working to collect talk radio news for the campaign, and eventually was promoted to the role of Deputy Speechwriter and later became Kerry’s Speechwriter. In 2005, Robert Gibbs, a senior campaign adviser for US President Barack Obama, recommended Favreau to Obama as an excellent speechwriter. He was hired as Obama's speechwriter shortly after Obama’s election to the United States Senate. Obama and Favreau grew close, and Obama has referred to him as his "mind reader." He went on the campaign trail with Obama during his successful Presidential election campaign.
In 2009, he was named as a White House staff member as Director of Speechwriting.
You may think that it is all “work, work and  work” for Favreau, he still finds time to unwind once in a while. According to reports, “this speechwriter has been spotted at Georgetown’s G2 Lounge, the French ambassador’s residence and many hot spots around town. But he also knows where to go for some quiet time: Look for him at Starbucks, where he’s been known to spend his time turning phrases on Obama’s next oratory” the report says.
