Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State described his predecessor and his former boss, Orji Uzor Kalu, as a “political leper” who will do anything to seek relevance and sympathy.

The governor said this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ugochukwu Emezue, in Umuahia, the state capital while responding to an allegation by Kalu that Governor Orji is planning the printing and pasting of his(Kalu) presidential posters in order to put a clog in the wheel of the reconciliation efforts of the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party and to create confusion in the party. Mr. Emezue said that Kalu’s antics are well known while describing the allegation as laughable emphasizing that the Abia State government cannot waste the scarce resources that are being used to build legacy projects to print such posters.

Orji Uzor Kalu had on Saturday in a statement by his Special Adviser said he has uncovered plots by his successor, Chief T.A. Orji, and some of his close aides to blackmail him by printing and pasting presidential campaign posters for 2015 in his name. He alleged that since Governor Orji could not stop his readmission into the PDP, this move was designed to create bad blood between him and the PDP leadership and it is being led by Orji’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Charles Ogbonna.
